Origins of Necessity

In the late 1970's Fran Todd wanted a few pieces of jewelry made. In investigating the cost, it was cheaper and more fun to learn how to make them herself. While working a 40 hour a week job, getting a bachelor's and a master's degree, jewelry was a release. A chance cutting of an opal changed her life - she became addicted, an opalholic. Fascinations also occurred with pearls, tourmaline, picture stones and other different items.

A major revealed itself in 1997, when FT realized she could not wear everything she had made. Toddle gifts was born!

The other Designers featured in the Toddle Collection are personal friends and do quality work. The one exception is PN'CHA, a free spirted, close relative who does the most eclectic items.
